Sometimes my designs aren't
inspired by anything. There isn’t any
particular fabric I have in mind or image I am trying to create. Sometimes all I do is play with shapes and
see what happens. Often these are the
best designs because I’m free to do whatever I want. It does not matter what size pieces I use or
what way I arrange them. The design can
become whatever it is meant to be.
This
is what I did for
A Little Bit Twisted.
I took a simple component and kept twisting it around to see what
happened.
There wasn’t anything in particular
I had in mind and as a result I ended up with two different blocks I really
liked.
Instead of making separate
quilts, I decided to put the two blocks together.
When I did, this interesting not quite basket
weave was created.
It was perfect.
The design was exactly what I was looking
for, without me looking for anything at all.
