Ironing Warning

I tried to quickly iron some of my newly sewn pieces. Unfortunately, the cord to the iron was twisted around itself and some of it ended up on the ironing board. 

I pressed the iron onto the cord for a moment, not realizing that was what I was doing. Thankfully, I noticed something did not feel right very quickly and I moved the iron, but this is an accident I do not want to repeat.
