The Warmth of a Quilt
In the end, bringing warmth is
what quilts are for. It is a rare day
when I am not pulling one, two, or even three quilts on top of myself in order
to keep warm. Even in the summer I do
this as the temperature suddenly drops, making the house far colder than it was
before. Of course, I could always use a
store bought blanket when this happens (and there’s nothing wrong with that),
but for me, it doesn’t feel the same as when I use a quilt. Somehow knowing the time and care it took to
make the quilt, makes the quilt feel so much warmer than anything else I could
possibly use. Even if I am using a quilt
I have made for myself. The care it took
to make it is part of what keeps me warm.
