When the Sewing Machine’s Away

    It always happens.  When the sewing machine is out for maintenance, I find myself with this strong desire to sew.  I suddenly want to get things done!

    When the machine is home, this is not the case.  Oh, yes, I will still get some sewing done, but the desire to do it is not as strong.  Maybe because I know with the machine readily available, I can put off sewing until I really want to do it.

    Of course, there are other things I can do while the machine is away.  I can cut.  I can iron.  I can organize and design.  What I can’t do is take the final step of actually sewing my pieces together.  Pieces I put off working on when I have the sewing machine at my disposal.

    It is funny how that works sometimes.
